Today I want to share the story of Alex (a fictional name), a highly talented professional who found himself trapped in a cycle of overthinking and anxiety.
Alex works in a very specialized niche field. He’s meticulous and precise, well-known for his expertise. And yet, despite his undeniable value, he constantly felt undervalued and underpaid by clients and suppliers. His inner dialogue was on a loop: “Why can’t they recognize my worth?”
This frustration, combined with an exhausting perfectionism, kept him stuck in a spiral of self-sabotage and burnout.
Alex was already aware of this pattern. He had started therapy and gained insight into his inner dynamics. But while he understood how he worked on a cognitive level, he couldn’t change his behavior: the underlying anxiety kept him tied to old habits and prevented him from self-regulating effectively. The feeling of never being enough, of always having something to prove, weighed heavily on him, holding him back from making decisions and turning his work into a constant source of stress.
Following his therapist’s suggestion, Alex decided to start a coaching program with me. The goal? To move beyond anxiety and find a way to live his work with more peace and self-regulation.
It was clear that his situation required a different approach. So, we worked on two levels: coaching and neurofeedback.
Through coaching, we began a process of introspection and self-awareness. The first step was recognizing his strengths and the unique value he brought compared to his competitors. Alex began to see himself through a new lens, acknowledging his professional uniqueness and his ability to offer high-quality solutions.
This shift, supported by customized coaching exercises, led to a significant change in how he perceived himself: from feeling like a victim of circumstances, he began to see himself as a professional capable of actively influencing his reality.
But coaching alone wasn’t enough. This is where neurofeedback played a crucial role.
Thanks to this technique, Alex was able to observe in real time how his body, mood, and responses were affected by stress and criticism. It was a journey toward emotional self-regulation: through brain training, Alex learned to stop internalizing client comments as personal attacks. He developed emotional distance, which allowed him to approach situations with more clarity and less emotional reactivity.
One of the most surprising outcomes of Alex’s journey was his ability to enter a “flow” state.
The flow state is a mental state where you’re fully immersed and focused on what you’re doing, to the point that you lose track of time and space. It’s that feeling where everything just clicks. Your actions feel natural, automatic, and everything flows harmoniously. During flow, you’re more productive, creative, and you perform at your best because your mind is fully engaged.
After just a few sessions, Alex began to feel lighter, as if his brain had finally taken a long-overdue break.
Tasks that had once seemed impossible because of mental fatigue and tension were now flowing with ease. It was like returning from a refreshing vacation with a clear mind and renewed strength to face challenges.
As the weeks went on, we also put in place real steps to change his work situation.
The difference? This time, thanks to brain training, Alex was finally able to take the actions he had been trying to implement for years.
Colleagues and friends had always given him advice, but only now, through this process, was he able to act on what he needed to do to find his balance and regain his peace of mind.
Alex’s story is a powerful example of how coaching and neurofeedback can work in synergy to create deep and lasting transformation.
Through self-analysis, increased awareness, and brain training, he was able to turn anxiety and frustration into strength and clarity.
If you see yourself in this story and feel it’s time for a meaningful change, I invite you to explore the potential of coaching and neurofeedback.
