As a Neurotrainer, I work with two fundamental tools to support nervous system regulation and accelerate personal change:

  • Non-linear Dynamic Neurofeedback
  • The protocols developed by Dr. Stephen Porges

These are distinct yet synergistic approaches, both grounded in neuroplasticity and the brain’s natural capacity for self-regulation. They are non-invasive, safe, non-medical, and free of side effects, functioning as true brain-training exercises designed to restore balance and coherence to the nervous system.

Our nervous system is naturally oriented toward healing, but factors such as chronic stress, past trauma, or rapid life changes can disrupt its function. In these situations, intervening at the neurophysiological level becomes essential: deep emotional blocks may continue to send alarm signals, fueling dysfunctional thoughts and emotional states that are not entirely within our conscious control.

That’s why the phrase “It’s all in your mind” is not entirely accurate.
Today we know that many aspects of our well-being go far beyond conscious control. The way our brain communicates with our body provides valuable insight into how we can become the best version of ourselves. Brain regions are highly interconnected and, just like a great team, they function best when working together in synergy.

This is why, with Neurofeedback and Porges’ protocols, we work simultaneously on both the conscious and subconscious levels, encouraging deep and lasting self-regulation.

HOW IT WORKS

A Neurofeedback training session lasts about 30 minutes.

In a quiet space, comfortably seated in a chair, you’ll wear headphones and listen to relaxing music.

To structure the session, two small sensors are placed on your scalp and three on your ears. These sensors detect your brain’s subtle electrical activity and transmit the data to a computer that analyzes it 256 times per second.
These sensors are purely for monitoring, they do not transmit electricity or any signal to your brain.

During the training, you may notice brief and occasional interruptions in the music — this is the feedback signal, giving your brain the opportunity to adjust and optimize itself.

Your only task? Relax and enjoy the session, letting your brain and nervous system do the rest.

By the end of the session, you’ll likely feel less stressed and mentally clearer. Many people report deeper sleep and vivid dreams, even after just one session.

The Stephen Porges protocol

The protocol developed by Stephen Porges is based on Polyvagal Theory and consists of guided listening to filtered music designed to stimulate the vagus nerve.

Its main goal is to help the nervous system shift out of states of:

  • Hyperactivation (anxiety, chronic tension, excessive reactivity)
  • Hypoactivation (apathy, emotional fatigue, disconnection)

…and guide it toward a state of calm, safety, and connection.

HOW IT WORKS

The SSP protocol is a guided listening treatment that takes place comfortably at home through the Unyte Health app. Once you receive your credentials, you’ll have access to three different sound journeys, Connect, Core, and Balance, each with a different level of musical filtration.

At the heart of the protocol is music filtered through a patented algorithm designed to stimulate the vagus nerve, helping the autonomic nervous system shift from a state of alertness to one of safety and regulation.

Listening takes place daily for 30 minutes, ideally in a relaxing environment, using wired headphones (not Bluetooth). During the process, you may experience strong emotions, this is a natural part of the self-regulation process.

The program begins with an initial one-month duration and can be renewed or extended based on results and individual needs.
